HELPFUL HINTS FOR GETTING PUBLISHED | AUTHOR GUIDELINES FOR MANUSCRIPT PREPARATION

  FOR AUTHORS

Manuscripts are accepted for consideration if neither the article nor any of its contents has been or will be published or submitted elsewhere before appearing in CSC Journals. Please submit an original manuscript in MS Word or PDF format that must be no longer than 10,000 words. The corresponding author must be identified. An undertaking signed by all the authors, (certifying originality of work and that the article has not been or will not be published elsewhere), must accompany the manuscript upon final submission. No more than 5 author names are listed for the manuscript.
Below are the guidelines for authors that must be read and followed before manuscript submissions. These include:

  SUBMISSION DECLARATION
Submission of an article implies that the work described has not been published previously (except in the form of an abstract or as part of a published lecture or academic thesis), that it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere, that its publication is approved by all authors and tacitly or explicitly by the responsible authorities where the work was carried out.
  CONTRIBUTORS
The statement that all authors have approved the final article should be true and included in the disclosure.

  COPYRIGHTS

With each manuscript you must submit a CSC Journal copyright form which transfers the copyright to the unpublished article to CSC Journal and which warrants that the article is the original work of the author and does not infringe the copyright of any other parties. Before publication, the Editorial and Publication Office must receive a signed soft/hard copy of the copyright form, which can be obtained on the CSC Journal web site at Copyrights Transfer Form.

  AUTHOR GUIDELINES FOR MANUSCRIPT PREPARATION
A carefully prepared manuscript is easier to read, easier to edit, and easier to lay out in type. It can therefore save you and us time and effort at the most important stages of publication. It is well worth your careful attention. These instructions detail the mechanics of preparing all parts of your manuscript and illustrations. Anyone responsible for preparing and submitting your manuscript should become thoroughly familiar with them. If you have questions after reading this material, please contact us at CSC Press.

Note: All items submitted to CSC Journals must be typed single-spaced and submitted in electronic formats. The electronic version should be in Microsoft Word or in PDF.

  REVIEW PROCESS
The Editor first evaluates all manuscripts. It is rare but entirely feasible for an exceptional manuscript to be accepted at this stage. Those rejected at this stage are insufficiently original, have poor grammar or English language, or are outside the aims and scope of the journal. Should the Editor decide to not assign reviewers but instead reject the submission, he/she is required to provide comments to be returned to the author. Those that meet the minimum criteria are passed on to preferable 3 but at least 2 experts for review. Suggestions for referees from the author are welcome, though these recommendations may or may not be used. Editors will solicit reviewers with the title and an abstract of the submission and, if accepted, send reviewers the submission via email. Editors should guide referees with Reviewer Guidelines. Referees directly return their reviews to the Editor through electronic review system. Unless the Editor makes specific arrangements with a reviewer, the deadline to return a completed review is 4 weeks. Upon acceptance of the paper, all authors are then informed about the review comments and asked to submit camera-ready copy along with publication payment fee.
  HELPFUL HINTS FOR GETTING PUBLISHED
Drafting a manuscript takes time and practice. Crafting an article to fit a publication's style requires an eye for editorial detail. Here are some tips regarding the publications that will help prospective authors become published?
  • Keep the readers in mind. Remember that while the readers are a sophisticated audience, both in technical training and in education, they also are busy. Be concise when expressing ideas and use subheadings to break up the text and make skimming easier.
  • Follow a journalistic style. Provide details that illustrate the position expressed in the article and follow a logical progression of ideas. Vary sentence lengths to make reading easier and to engage the reader.
  • Address readers clearly. Avoid unnecessarily complex vocabulary, clichés and excessive jargon.
  • Use bullets to make points easier to read.
  • Provide a summary of the major points of the article at the end as conclusion and future work.
  • Provide supporting tables, figures, charts or artwork along with the manuscript. Indicators of the location of supporting illustrations should be included in the text, so the Journal staff will know where to place them, but the actual art itself should be submitted in a jpg, tiff or gif file, separate from the text. Titles should be included that explain the relevance and significance of these supporting items.
  • Please do not submit articles with automatic headers and footers or track changes functions engaged.
  • Give the article a final edit to eliminate unnecessary words. Make sure paragraphs flow smoothly and logically.
