| IJCN PLAGIARISM POLICIES |
| Plagiarism is the act of taking another person's writing, work, data or even idea intentionally or unintentionally and passing it off as your own. It also includes using others ideas and words without clearly acknowledging the source of that information. It is also plagiarism by providing someone else's paper as your own, or cut and paste text from the Internet to your paper without citing the source. |
| Types of Plagiarism |
| Following are the most common types of plagiarism; |
| Full Plagiarism |
Content that has been presented, without any changes made to the content, thoughts, and even grammar, is known as full plagiarism. It is the most common form of plagiarism by presenting exact words from a source and presenting them as your own. It is also called copy and paste plagiarism. If you want to use it, you must use quotations marks and provide references. |
| Partial Plagiarism |
If the presented content is a mixture of two to three different sources, where the use of rephrasing and synonyms is extensive, then it is known as partial plagiarism. If you take a sentence from a source and change around a few words, it is still plagiarism. |
| Self Plagiarism |
Self-plagiarism occurs when an author reuses portions of their previous writings in subsequent research papers. Commonly submitted paper is simply a re-titled and reformatted version of the original one, but more frequently it is assembled from previous work. Publishing the same material through different means without referencing it properly is a very common habit among many writers. |
