About Professor Joćo Manuel R. S. Tavares |
|
| Joćo Manuel R. S. Tavares has a BSc Degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Porto in 1992. In 1995, he obtained the Master Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, in the field of Industrial Informatics, also from University of Porto. In 2001, he obtained the PhD Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the same University.
Since 2001, he is senior researcher and project coordinator at INEGI - Institute of Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Management. He was Assistant Professor of DEMec - Department of Mechanical Engineering of FEUP - Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto between 2001 and 2011. Since 2011, he is Associate Professor at the same department.
He has been (co-)chair of several scientific national and international conferences and workshops, (co-)chief-editor of scientific international journals, co-guest-editor of special issues of scientific international journals and (co-)author than more of 350 scientific publications, including the co-editing of various scientific books.
In the last years, he has been participating in several scientific research projects, some as coordinator, and in the (co-)supervising of several MSc and PhD thesis.
Its main research areas include Computational Vision, Medical Imaging, Biomedical Engineering, Biomechanics, Scientific Visualization and New Product Development.
